The most intensive treatment service The Counseling Center provides is the partial hospitalization program, or PHP, which is the highest level of outpatient treatment care for patients entering recovery.
The partial hospitalization care is the best outpatient level of care available for patients with alcohol and drug addictions, and who may have co-occurring mental health disorders.
In partial hospitalization care, the patient spends most of their day at the outpatient facility, where he or she is supervised or monitored by a team of clinicians and support staff. While attending PHP you will work through psychotherapy treatments that include individual and group therapy, cognitive behavior therapy and other educational aspects of recovery treatment.
The PHP of The Counseling Center requires 5 hours a day, 5 days a week until such a time when the patient has balanced their mental health condition, and their alcohol and drug addiction. The PHP treatment is recommended for patients who need more than an IOP program but don’t require a residential level of care. By being under a medically supervised treatment, the patient receives the care they need for mental health stability, and drug and alcohol addiction therapy. This is an intense, daily approach to prevent relapse during the most crucial point in recovery yet allows the patient to return home or to a sober living environment every day where they can put to practice the skills learned in therapy. The goal of the PHP is to stabilize an individual and help the patient to commit to long-term recovery.
