Substance abuse, whether prescribed drugs or illicit drugs, is a significant concern in the country, with millions of people either trapped in the cycle of self-medication or struggling to quit and unable to do so. The Counseling Center offers a way out with our intensive outpatient program for substance abuse or addiction.
The Counseling Center’s outpatient program for substance abuse will focus on awareness, education, and relapse prevention. From your first meeting with one of our clinicians, your overall state of being will be assessed, and a treatment plan will be recommended and explained for your specific condition and substance of use. Our intensive outpatient program for substance abuse will include therapy and, in some instances, medications to counteract withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings or urges associated with drug use and the side effects of discontinued use. Your outpatient program for substance abuse will be scheduled, considering your commitments and responsibilities such as work, school, and family life. The idea is for you to begin your long-awaited recovery as you continue your daily life.
Your intensive outpatient program for substance abuse will consist of group therapy sessions conducted with small groups of 15 people or less and weekly individual sessions with a therapist who will guide and monitor your progress and help you with specific concerns.
